Privacy
Nothing you type leaves the browser
The short version: there is no backend, no account, no upload and no cookie. The one thing that will change is advertising: Google AdSense is planned for some pages, and the rules for it are set out below.
What happens to what you type
The form is read and used by JavaScript served from this domain, inside the page you already loaded. There is no upload step, no API call and no server-side processing. Close or reload the tab and the answers are gone; the print button exists because the page deliberately does not remember anything between visits.
What this site does not do
- No product name, quantity, address, supplier detail or allergen answer is transmitted anywhere.
- No accounts, no email collection, no newsletter, no profiles.
- No first-party cookies, no localStorage, no sessionStorage, no fingerprinting, no session recording.
- No tracking pixels, social embeds or third-party scripts of any kind.
Analytics
There is no analytics on Candle CLP today: no Google Analytics, no Cloudflare Web Analytics beacon, no self-hosted counter. The site does not set a cookie and does not record a visit.
If a cookie-less visit counter is added later, this page will say which one and what it records before it goes live. Nothing like that is loaded now, and blocking scripts does not affect the checker.
Hosting
The site is static and hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare receives standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, requested URL) when your browser loads a page; that is how the HTML reaches you. No request made by the checker carries your answers, so that metadata never includes them. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for how request logs are handled.
Advertising (AdSense)
No ads appear on Candle CLP today. We are applying to show Google AdSense ads on some pages. They will only appear after Google approves the site, and only with consent where required. Ad scripts can set cookies after consent; the checker itself still runs locally and never uploads anything.
- After approval only. No AdSense script is loaded until Google approves the site. There is no ad slot, no placeholder and no hidden ad code on any page right now.
- Consent first where required. In regions that require it, ad and consent scripts load only after you agree. The checker does not depend on ad scripts, so blocking or declining ads does not disable it.
- Cookies and third-party data. After consent, Google and its partners may set cookies or read device identifiers to serve and measure ads. That can include approximate location and ad-interaction data. It is Google’s processing, not ours, and it never touches what you type into the checker. See Google’s advertising policies and Google’s privacy policy.
- The checker stays local. Ads would sit beside the tool. Product details, supplier details and allergen answers never go to Google or anyone else.
- Opting out. You can limit ad personalisation at Google Ad Settings or with your browser’s tracking controls. Blocking ads does not break the checker.
If the application is rejected, or this changes, this section will be updated before anything ships.
Verifying this
Open DevTools → Network, clear the log, then fill the form: no request appears while the checklist and draft are built. Disconnect the network after the page has loaded and the checker keeps working. That is the strongest available proof that the processing is local.
